Marriage Mentoring

Marriage is beautiful, but it can also be hard work. Looking for some help to keep your marriage healthy and strong?

Discover biblical principles to apply to your marriage in a loving, non-judgmental, and safe place to share.  This ministry is not a teaching curriculum or a replacement for clinical or pastoral counsel, however, the provided online assessment will help you discover your relational health. Homework will be given to develop new habits and behaviors and you will learn tools that will apply long after your sessions are completed. 

Fill out the request form below and we'll get the process started. Both spouses must fill out and submit a request form separately to begin the mentoring process.

  • Stronger couples become stronger parents and families, which eventually strengthens the overall church community.

  • We provide crisis marriage mentor training that is intended to lighten your load. This training equips your mentors to help with the demands of hurting marriages, so you can trust these mentor couples to help you in your crisis.

  • Our biblical step-by-step process will bring spiritual depth and meaning into each mentoring session as couples meet with mentors who share a vibrant faith together and utilize our scripture reference tools.

  • Our marriage mentoring is a terrific outreach and a way for mentors to be effective with their faith and draw people to the church with our loving, nonjudgmental approach.

  • Marriage mentoring is a great portal for evangelism. Linking mentors with people that are unchurched, with no personal or experiential background for church life, is an awesome opportunity to help them discover the Gospel.

  • Our marriage mentoring process is an effective discipleship tool that is used to invest in couples, to encourage and inspire them, and to offer hope and healing through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Please, read our WEDDING REQUEST criteria before submitting a request

We are honored that you desire to be married at Lakes Area Vineyard or to have an officiant for your wedding. We look forward to coming alongside you as you plan and prepare for a Christ-centered and lifelong marriage! To begin the process, please complete the Wedding Request Form below. If your proposed wedding date is less than six months from your submitted request, we will be unable to honor your request. A representative from our Marriage & Family ministry will contact you after you complete the request form. Note that this is simply a REQUEST form. Submitting it does NOT guarantee the date or the officiant you request.

If your Wedding Request Form is approved, both the bride and groom will receive a Premarital Counseling Information & Payment Form. Upon completion, our Marriage & Family pastor will contact you about your next steps.

Meet Daniel

My name is Daniel Young. My wife, Jessica, and I have been married for 11 years and are blessed with two wonderful children, Bethany and Ethan. I have been following and serving Jesus since I was 14 years old and have never looked back. The Lord has given us the incredible privilege of serving families, parents, and marriages here in the Detroit Lakes area, and we truly love every minute of it. I look forward to meeting you!
